What Does It Take?

 

What does it take to jump

Into this  life again from the obscure

And demented penumbra

Of a dreadful underworld

And a sense of unconscious irrationality?

 

It takes me a long while.

More than two or three coffees

And a lot of meditation

Sometimes a lot of alienation

To absorb the splendid manifestations

Of the oblique otherness

The symmetrical polarity.
